Along the ancient Silk Road, caravanserais were roadside inns built every 30 kilometres — the infrastructure that made long-distance travel possible. They were where merchants rested, cultures exchanged, and journeys continued.
The keeper of the serai made sure every traveler had what they needed to carry on. We thought that was a pretty good mission statement.
